Fresno serves as the hub of Fresno County and California's Central Valley and is predominantly tied to large scale agriculture production. Fresno's elevation is about 90 m (300 ft) and climate is somewhat Mediterranean with mild winters and hot summers. The population is about 500,000 with about 1,000,000 in the metropolitan area. Fresno is 322 km (200 miles) from Los Angles, 274 km (170 miles) from the state capital of Sacramento. Fresno City has 3 beautiful parks (Woodward Park, Roeding Park and Kearney Park), 11 Four year Institutions, 2 Two year Institutions and 3 Career Colleges. Also, 10 Museums and historic attractions. Several major shopping centers including, Fresno Fashion Fair and River Park Shopping Center.

Driving time from Fresno to Yosemite National Park (2 hrs.), Sequoia / Kings Canyon National Parks (1.5 hrs.), Death Valley National Park
(6 hrs.), Las Vegas (7 hrs.), San Francisco (3 hrs.), Monterey (2 hrs.), Carmel (2.5 hrs.) and many other attractions.
